The Broadwater collection includes Churchill family photograph albums and press-cutting books and other papers with photographs of Churchill and his family throughout his life, and press-cuttings covering Churchill’s political, military and literary career.
The Broadwater collection was deposited at Churchill Archives Centre by Winston Churchill and the Churchill Centenary Trust in September-October 1974 and June 1978. Further papers relating to the Churchill family were deposited by Mrs Minnie Churchill, Mr Randolph Churchill and Mr Winston Churchill between 2004 and 2012.
The images from these photographic albums are important and so heavily used that in order to reduce wear and tear on originals and prevent repeated copying the most important albums have been digitised.
The digitised collections are now available to online.
